FAQ
What do I wear to the Salt Room? Cozys. Wear something comfortable that you can relax in. Shoes are not allowed on the salt floor so please be prepared to be barefoot. You are welcome to bring socks from home.
Will there be other people in the Salt Room with me? The Salt Room holds up to five people at a time. It is possible to have other people in the treatment room with you when you come. If you'd like to book the entire room please fill out a contact form and our staff will reach out to you for booking options.
Will this effect my dietary salt intake? No. The salt you breathe in while in the Salt Room will not have an effect on your salt intake.
What is the temperature in the Salt Room? The Salt Room is kept at a comfortable 70 degrees. We've got blankets available if you get chilly or if you just like to snuggle up.
What does the Salt Room do during a session? During your 45 min session the salt machine, or the Halogenerator will pump out medical grade saline through the room. You wont see it in the air but you should feel like its easier to breathe. When there is an infection present in the throat or sinuses it is common to feel a scratchy sensation in the throat. This is normal and it is the salt killing the infection. It is also normal for your sinuses to drain, this is also the salt doing its job.
Can I bring electronics into the Salt Room? Politely, no. We ask you to leave your electronics in the lobby. The salt is not good for your devices and we encourage you to fully relax and experience the treatment.
Can I come too often or be exposed to too much salt with sessions? No. Studies show there is no harmful side effects to being in the Salt Room daily, even multiple times during the day. However if you have concerns please reach out to your health provider.
What do I do in the Salt Room? RELAX. It's that simple, you can bring a book ( not a tablet), you can take a nap, you can journal, or you can enjoy the sensory play provided by the salt sand.
